Hey gang. It was a rare occurrence for the Knights last night -- NO FRIDAY HOME GAME!! They are doing their "northern" road swing through North Bay, Sudbury and Barrie.
All was not last, though. The game was on TV.
HOWEVER....to tide me over until that game started, my favourite QMJHL team, the Drummondville Voltigeurs, were on Sportsnet. They were playing the Gatineau Olympiques.
Watching the game...I heard a name that was eerily familiar:
Frank Schumacher.
THERE'S a name from the past!
Former member of the Sudbury Wolves, Niagara IceDogs and Saginaw Spirit....twice!
I knew he had toiled around in the QMJHL after playing in the USHL last season.
He was traded to Gatineau from Shawinigan at the trade deadline.
