The poles that hole up the safety nets at the end of the ice block the corner scoreboards from several seats too, or at least obscure the view. The super-imposed score etc. on the video board is difficult to read and sometimes not even there.
I'm NOT complaining about the video screens though. LOL. I LOVE having instant replays, etc. Was lost in Plymouth without them!

I think at some point down the road the video board will eventually be replaced. Some of the light bulbs, or pixles, are burned out, and the quality is average at best. But yes, I enjoy it to...makes the experience that much better and instant replays are always a plus.

Another thing I was thinking of...I was looking at the Windsor Spitfire's website today and noticed they have video highlights posted of their lastest game (home game at least). I think London does this as well, not sure about the other teams. This would be a cool addition to the site, and could make people who aren't attending the games, yet still visit the site, more interested in buying a ticket.

Their highlights come from the TV stations that film and broadcast the games...no such luck in Saginaw .....yet.

Stop the insanity of the on ice presentations!!!!!! Or at least do it before the teams hit the ice. I watched the Sania goaltender last night take his glove and blocker off to shoot water in his face to wake him up from the boredom. It's bad enough that these kids have to stand through slow renditions of both national anthems, then make em listen to some spiel about a community un-sung hero? the only presentations (while the players are on the ice) should be those that include the players such as academic or performance.

How about we make Honesty Elliott (sp?) the official National Anthem singer of the Saginaw Spirit. She does a great job, and judging by the applause BEFORE she sings, the rest of the fans think so too. I like the idea of giving others the chance to sing, but no offense to them, some of the anthem performances this season have been horrid. Honesty does a great job every time and never disappoints. Let's keep her in there full time!

Heartily agree. I know there will always be occasions when others sing (the harmony groups are always good) but there should never be a playoff game or any kind of special game (opening night, etc) where Ms. Elliott doesn't sing. We were lucky enough to be there the very first time she sang, and we knew right away the Spirit had a winner.

She's our Kate Smith!
Hopefully others on this board are old enough to know what that means.

I think the Spirit try to get her whenever they can (she sang a lot more last year than she has this year) but I'll bet she's a busy gal. She is very good singer and her band may have more gig's this year. I liked the gal that did Friday night, she was fast!

How about posting the menu for the Blue Line Club for the playoffs? Since I didn't know what there was, I ate before the game Sat.--and it was pulled pork, one of the good ones!

On a related not, more food options in the Blue Line club would actually be one of my suggestions for the team. More in the blue line club PERIOD. The only times I go in there: Before the game to listen to Brady and Mancini and during the first intermission if the Spirit Dancers are there. I like the concept, just wish it was implemented a little better, although I can't really think of anything to suggest to make it better...Also how about making it a little more exclusive? They stamp your hand when you come in, but I don't know why. I've never once had anyone check my hand for entry after the game has started.

The intro needs work, specifically the music. Do we have someone knowledgable in this area running the show? I haven't heard a really good pump up theme yet, and there are lots out there. Why not let the players choose warm up and pre game music (assuming they have no say in it now) To my way of thinking music and scoreboard chants are overdone nowadays, because it's constant, but pregame is different.

Answers to your questions:
The intro music is used because basically every other arena uses the same stuff (like the Final Countdown or Welcome to the Jungle) and we wanted to be different.
The players do choose the warmup music. They wanted warmups to be 100% techno and gave us CD's to play.

Wow--never would have figured a hockey team for techno!! Thanks for the answer--consider me 100% satisfied. Go Spirit!
