I don't know what the best trade in the league was but don't you think us getting Courtney was one of the best? He's been one of the 3 stars 3 out of the 4 games played since getting him. Hopefully he keeps up the good work.

It looks like it was a equal trade. Sean Courtney has done very but so has Geoff Platt for the Otters. Geoff has 6 pts in three games. And those points include a hat trick. I think the trade sparked Platt. Doens't sound like Courtney needed a spark. Hopefully both kids do well with their new teams.

Looking back at these posts, Was it really that good of a deal? I know Platt had a horrible attitude and was bad for team morale, but look at Platts stats this year compared to Courtney. I think I know what it is. Its the curse of Saginaw. Good players dont play good here and bad players play the same. As soon as they get out of "Dodge" they become good players (or they just disapear and never play hockey ever again). We can call the curse "the curse of Saginaw" (real original).then maybe in 80 years we can break the curse (just like Boston)! I bet that if we ever trade JM Rizk he will light up the stats book with goals and assists just like Platt did.
Just a post I made because I'm bored and had nothing better to do than complain about my favorite teams poor everything...

It's more of a "bad team curse" than a Saginaw curse. In a few seasons, when the Spirit are riding high, there may be a "London curse". It really was not that long ago when they only won 3 games all year.

It also makes the team look better too. For instence: Its not the teams fault that they lose 7 games in a row, get a win, then lose 8 or 9 more times etc... Its the Curse of Saginaw.
Hey it worked in Boston... Every year after the Redsox lost in the playoffs they blamed it on the curse. People didnt think twice about it. So I say its not the team. its the curse!
We could say that the curse started because when the Spirit came into Wendler Arena they razzed the retired numbers and the banners from the rafters... And boom! We got ourselves a curse!
