www.prohockeyrumors.com/2019/10/bode-wilde-assigned-to-ahl.htmlAn interesting name has come across the AHL transactions page today. New York Islanders prospect Bode Wilde has been added to the Bridgeport Sound Tigers roster after previously starting on season-opening injured reserve. Wilde must be healthy enough to return to action, but what’s interesting about his assignment to Bridgeport is that he is still eligible to play for the Saginaw Spirit of the OHL where he spent last season. The Islanders must believe that he’s ready to make the leap to professional hockey after scoring 70 points in scoring 62 games for the Spirit last season.

No reason to not at least give him some AHL games to see how he performs. If after 8-9 games they don't feel hes up to AHL standards they can still send him back.

There has been lots of talk lately that the Isles are looking for forward help and that they are really deep at D and may trade some of their defense to get that scorin gm help. If he isn’t traded and other young D are I see him staying there. If he is traded I guess it depends what the situation is with that team.

It all depends on how he plays...if he plays well, they'll find a way to keep him up. It should be obvious to everyone on here that Bode has enough talent to play in not just the AHL but most likely the NHL. The question is if his game is well rounded enough to keep him at that level or if he could use another development year in the OHL to work on something before making the jump. My guess is that he stays in the AHL but that is up to him and how he plays.

Wilde has been at Bridgeport 2 games now and has not dressed for either. Hmmmm! He can’t be injured because the Isles could not have sent him down if he wasn’t 100% healthy due to the CBA.

Maybe Lamoriello was pissed with how Widle was hurt during training camp evaluations and doesn't want to send him back. Either that or they want to keep total tabs on him and control what's going on with his rebab.

Last Thursday he was skating but wearing a no contact jersey. He said in a interview that he feels good but may be a couple weeks away from being ready to go.
On a side note Ivan go his first start and won 4-2 giving up two PP goalies.
