last year they were a good team until something changed. I can’t remember what it was. Whatever that change was the boys got on track and they then acquired some real horses and made a run. I’m sure it’s in the back of some people’s mind.

Watching Duhart last night I think this was a good trade for us. While Porco had elite speed, he was only a half point per game so it's not like we're losing a ton of scoring. Duhart may have not put up a lot of stats but Lazary gave him some time last night on the powerplay and I think he did just fine. To get a depth player and 5 picks for a speedy depth player and a defenseman who struggles to get on the ice is a win for Drinkell in my opinion.

Face offs have been a weakness of this team for several seasons.

So 2 seconds, 2 thirds, a fifth, and a depth LW. Our old friend Nick Porco was traded again...thought I'd bring out this old thread to show how trades can work well for some and not as well for others: Nick Porco and Ian Lemieux were traded for (2) 2nds, (2) 3rds, a fifth and Dalton Duhart. I'm assuming many of those picks were flipped for guys like Suzuki who we barely got to see but let's just look at how the players ended up: Porco has 14g/12a in 55 games with the Colts and is (-15) +/- Lemieux has 2g/6a in 65 games with the Colts and is (-18) +/- Duhart has 19g/25a in 76 games with the Spirit and is (-9) +/-. Duhart also has more points per game this year without all the playmakers around him. Now Porco is being traded for a 5th and a 12th. If you look at this trade in retrospect, Drinkell fleeced Barrie on this one. We got a player who has produced more and was kept as an OA and had covid not blasted us, we could have turned those picks into a championship.
