The boys better play better today than have the last two games. The defense in the first period last night was terrible, but they played much better after that. With Ivan playing well in Tucson, it's looking like he won't be back, so it'll be up to Lennox to step up in goal and play like he did in the playoffs last season. The Soo lost in Flint last night.

I dont know if it’s coincidence or not, but today is the first day I’ve noticed that Ivan’s name is not on the game day program.
UPDATE: Also not announced as a scratch. Goodby and good luck, Ivan. Can’t wait to see you in The Show !

I was most definitely not one of those people. Also, I now have to help my 3 yr old granddaughter find a new favorite player. Which could be tough, since so far, she still thinks Ivan is out there.

How much does this team miss Solovyov quarterbacking the power play? Had 3 straight power plays with a chance to take a 5-2 lead. Instead of converting they give up a short handed goal to allow the Hounds to get back in the game. A win is a win but it really should not have gone down to the wire.

Crazy how after last season the amount of people on here that didn’t want him back. To be fair from all accounts after last season it was pretty apparent that if Prosvetov came back for this season him or Lennox were going to be moved. Both guys needed games and Saginaw was going to have to pick sides. Honestly I'd take 3 years of Lennox over a year of Ivan any day of the week.

It has nothing to do with this thread but in a contending year you should not be taking a chance on a young goaltender, it's too much of a risk. Goalies are often cheap because usually there's a lot of talent especially since they're now available in the import draft and young teams often want to put an OA goalie on the market to get their young goalie some experience. I've always been an advocate of trading for goalies...let other teams be our farm team. Look at Frappier...he seems like a decent goalie and we traded one 10th round pick for him...he's 3-1 with a 2.5 GAA...pretty good for someone who is only worth a 10th rounder on the open market.

Another example is Flint acquiring Popovich. Guelph is in a rebuild year and were able to leverage an OA goalie for draft picks.
