"Draft" is a strong word to use for a selection where agents send teams do not draft lists where players wont report. Almost every 1st rounder is agreed upon ahead of time.

Not to mention at the time Jenkins was rated higher than all of those guys. Hayton would have went to the Pete's but apparently they were on the no draft list

It’s always been my impression they’ve gotten more overall bang for the buck with their second round picks. There are exceptions like Perfetti of course.

All this has been true forever. Until somebody comes up with a widely used better alternative, I’m sticking with “draft”.
