Not sure if anyone has ever made the road trip to either spot before but if you have, is there anything to do in either of the spots or anywhere around there? Thinking about traveling there with the kids for a Spirit game but it's quite a hike (7-8hrs) so unless there's something fun to do around there, we'll probably skip it and do another trip.

North Bay is neat nothing stands out as a kid specific thing there are a couple of museums, skiing, and Lake Nipissing. However in Sudbury you have Science North which is a great place for kids to spend that Saturday between games. Both arenas are older but still nice and the scenery across 17 is really very nice but weather can be pretty sketchy in February.

I'm thinking about doing Peterborough and Kingston next month. Not sure if I feel like driving all the way to Ottawa, though. Sudbury is getting a new rink soon, I believe. I'll have to get up there before it closes.

I did this road trip twice with my kids. Sudbury has Science North, and like bcspirit said, and it is fantastic for kids. It is a four level interactive children museum. You'll be able to see Ramsey Lake from there, where one can ice skate on, so bring skates. In town, there is Let's Scrabblalatte, which is a coffee house chock full of board games (but bring cash for this). One can just camp out there and play games. I also recommend the Laughing Buddha for a meal before the game right next to the arena. But get there early because a lot of Wolves fans will be there too. You should see a good number of Giroux's family there at the arena. I did not find as much to do in North Bay. We had dinners at East Side Mario's and Moose's Cookhouse. Both were decent. We would have done Wacky Wings, but the satellite was not working the day we tried. Have a great time!

Never been to North Bay, but Sudbury was a great trip. If you didn't count that it was 30 below when we were there. There is nothing to stop those Arctic winds coming down from the north! So plan accordingly on that. Great old barn with s lot of atmosphere, and if/when Sudbury scores, a motheaten wolf comes out of his den. Kids ❤️ it. Fans are passionate, but the ones around us were more than willing to talk.

Just curious, DJ, if you decided to take this trip this weekend?

I'll be up for Barrie and Sudbury if anyone else will. I did Sudbury and North Bay last year and there wasn't much outside of the games to do, so I'll probably skip NB on the way back home.
Sudbury and Saginaw should be a great game this year though, if anyone else is going and wants to meetup, let me know.

Couldn't make it to Peterborough or Kingston last month, so now we're debating this one. It's a long drive, though. If not, I'm planning on Hamilton/Erie in a couple of weeks.
