I'm sure they will look on this as a "teachable moment". We sometimes forget that these players are young and will make mistakes. I could list many things that I did in my youth that I'm not proud of and wished I had never done them. What's important here is what he does next. How he conducts himself in the future will determine if he learned anything. I can see after "your" team got waxed by the Russians your mind might be someplace else in that moment. It is possible it was just a mistake like he said.

It is possible it was just a mistake like he said. I agree with BP. I'm not a fan of crucifying these kids for mistakes they make, especially something like this. Was it disrespectful? Yeah. Was it on purpose? He says it wasn't, I give him the benefit of the doubt. Did he hurt anyone? Nope. Let's get over it and move on. |
