Who's ready for some Monday night hockey? I don't remember ever going to a Monday game, except maybe in the playoffs. Windsor won in Flint last night and are again tied with the Spirit for first place. I wonder if Lennox will be in goal, or does Coach Lazary go with the hot goalie in Frappier?

Weather is bad up north. Hope the Greyhounds make it here safely.

Should be a good game. The Hounds are hot right now, 8-1-1 in their last 10, but still just 7th in the conference. Although I feel like every team in the Western Conference has had both a long winning streak and a long losing streak at this point.

That was a very well-played, intense and entertaining game. The Spirit deserved to win, but they easily could have lost on one fluky shot. Good job in the last game of 2019!!!

Soo couldn’t sustain any O zone pressure the last 2 periods so they were flying guys out of the D zone to create odd man rushes. They had several and it almost worked. Frappier stood tall.

I know this subject gets beat to death often but how does Soo goaltender Bailey Brkin not get a star last night? He was the reason the Hounds were still in the game late in the 3rd period. My 3 stars would have been:
1 - Brkin 2 - Caldwell 3 - Frappier

My 3 stars would have been: 1 - Brkin 2 - Caldwell 3 - Frappier I'm with you. I would have been very happy with a Brkin first star last night despite the Soo losing. He was spectacular. Was surprised he didn't get one at all. Cardwell certainly should have gotten one with two goals, though at the time they thought Baber had one of the goals — even though Ethan and Cam both knew better as they discussed it during the celly. Stars don't matter though, all that does is the win. Great game by the Spirit. I had my doubts about Frappier when Lennox got hurt, but he has excelled and stepped up to save games that could have been losses. That's what you want out of your goaltender, and he's gone toe to toe with some good ones this season. Some rumors of trades coming (though I have zero inside information, just to be clear) and I think it's expected at this point because I think the consensus is that whether some think it should happen or not, we're going for it this year. Will be interesting how we shake out after the deadline and see what we've got going forward. Remember, it was a couple big moves near the deadline last season that got us Tippett and McLeod who became a BIG part of our push into the postseason. A lot could improve by that time, and at this point I feel like we're in pretty good shape without changes. We can run with anyone it seems.
