The Hockey News reported that the NHLPA made a proposal with a $52 million salary cap late last night. The league rejected it still saying they need a $40 million cap. Can these 2 groups of ego maniacs meet in the middle??

Players came back with $49 million. That's where the negotiation stands at the moment.
