The second half of the home and home series with the Greyhounds. The Spirit have been playing really good hockey so let's hope they keep rolling tonight. The Spirit are now one point ahead of Windsor for first place in the Western Division and tied for first in the conference.

Spirit win 5-1, extending their streak to 7 straight games scoring at least 5 goals.
The best part of tonight's result - secondary scoring. Saginaw scored 5 goals and the top line didn't figure into any of them.
Big game tomorrow to end this 3-in-3 stretch in Windsor against the Spitfires.

The Soo resorted to some dirty stuff there at the end of the game. One of their guys also stuck his knee out at Millman at the end of the second period. Millman wanted to go after the guy but the Linesmen got in the way to stop it. The four officials got together and appeared to talked about it but didn't call anything.

Yes, I must say it was nice to see some folks not named Coskey, Perfetti or Suzuki get on the scoresheet tonight. And the defense/goaltending was very solid. Big one tomorrow.

Let’s hope instigator penalty on Mitchell Smith gets reversed otherwise he is gone for 2 games.

Bodes well for the team moving forward. Perfetti’s point steak ends but it doesn’t matter. Nice to see Antropov and Jenkins get off the snide. Hopefully they both go on a scoring spree.

New second unit on the PP looked really good. Totally different look than what the first team gives. I appreciate Mitchell going after O’Rourke—and he was to me the clear winner—but if we have to play w 4 D, we’re in trouble. Isnt there something about fighting in the last 3 min of a game with more than a 3 goal spread that also calls for a suspension?

What they need to do is review the tape for #13 on the soo and suspend the heck out of him... For those who didn't have a good view... Busdecker was engaged with a soo player and 13 was the third man in and it was a crosscheck/boarding/charging and was totally intent to injure. I'm sure that's what lazary was yelling at the refs for after they evened up the calls.
I didn't see if Smith actually instigated that fight or not...I know they do review those but my guess is he'll be suspended. Good for him in the fight... He's really been impressing me over the past month or so.

I'm sure the Soo player wasn't exactly a saint on that play either.

It was definitely a dirty hit on Busdecker. Happened right in front of me, literally six inches away, as I was shooting in that corner and zoomed in on it when it happened. Buzzy didn't even see him coming and had his face slammed right into the glass.
