Wow. Tonight is a Stinker. With a capital S. Are you sure about that? For the first 44 minutes of the game, absolutely! Great comeback, great W, but that doesnt excuse the hole they dug themselves. Against almost every team in the league, last night was an L, and we all know it. That said—never apologize for a win. Ever.

I'll take two out of three every time on this long road trip. Ottawa is the team to beat this year and it showed today why that is. Long way to go, but I'm liking what I see from our team.

I'll agree with the 2 out of 3, but...the power play...we are 17th out of 20 teams in power play efficiency at 17.7%. That is not good for a team with this much offensive talent. It will kill them come playoff time if that aspect of their game isn't improved.

Being so deep in the season it will be tough to raise that percentage. I guarantee that right now opposing teams are putting "no penalties" on their key to beating Saginaw. Good road trip playing Ottawa tough at the end of a long travel weekend.

The good news is that we won't have to play Ottawa again this season until the League Final. I'm good with that.

Good road trip playing Ottawa tough at the end of a long travel weekend. Have to agree with Swoopster on this one. In the 8 games since Suzuki arrived, the PP is 4/31, or about 13%. That’s not my idea of looking better. Of equal concern to me is the PK, which seems to alternate between being excellent and being abysmal. Hard work on the kill has been a Spirit trademark for the past few years, and watching its percentage decrease as the season goes on doesnt fill me with optimism.

I can't argue with numbers because they ultimately tell the true story but the eye test tells me that the puck is moving faster and that it's only a matter of time before the puck starts going in.
I think one of the biggest deficiencies on the power play is a big blaster from the point from a defenseman. That would change if Wilde shows up but right now it's just Millman with "seeing-eye" wristers but if we can get some slap shots from the point that get through the traffic it will create some juicy rebounds that will up that percentage hopefully.

I agree with you that the puck movement looks better. But the cold fact is that it’s been 8 games and the PP is actually worse. Totally agree about the bomb from the point. But I have no idea if Wilde is coming back, and I’m not counting on him. It’s going to be a lost opportunity if he doesn't come back and the Spirit failed to strengthen their D at the deadline.

The London one is incorrect, but London has only lost once this year (2020). Coincidentally, both Ottawa and London last lost on January 11th (London losing in Saginaw). And Ottawa's last lost prior to January 11th was also here in Saginaw on November 14th. So, there's that.
