If anyone wants to heckle Erie they're currently walking into the olive garden on bay road 🙂

A 6-3 win for the Spirit over Erie tonight. Elsewhere, Windsor lost their 3rd straight game in regulation, which gives Saginaw a 5-point lead in the West Division. The Spitfires still have three games in hand. Flint won their 7th straight, ending Kitchener's 15-game point streak.

Olive Garden must have cut off their unlimited breadsticks making the Otters play angry through the first two periods.

Windsor lost again so the Spirit are 5 points up on the Spitfires who have 3 games in hand. The Spirit are now tied with London for first in the conference and they play each other Friday night.

Blade Jenkins handed a 4 game suspension for his hit on Jamie Drysdale. He's eligible to return on 2/15, which means he'll miss games against London, Guelph, Sault Ste. Marie, and Flint.

I wasn't there Saturday, anyone have video of the hit? I'm assuming Jenkins got a game for it?

This is absolute garbage, he turned his back when the hit was coming and he ended up getting injured so he gets 4 games. What an absolute crock. Did the Kitchener player get suspended when he knee'd DJ King and caused him to miss a few weeks? Oh wait, he wasn't even penalized on the play...this is just absolute garbage.

The roughing penalty was offset by Jack Duff also getting a roughing penalty. Blade ran Jamie Drysdale into the boards pretty hard and Jack Duff took exception to the hit. It's BS on the part of the OHL to turn a 2 minute penalty into a 4 game suspension. If he had run some 3rd or 4th line guy that would have been the end of it.

I actually thought the hit was worth 5. But regardless, that’s a pretty steep penalty for a guy who had 8 PIMs all year going into the game.

Or the guy from Guelph that kneed the aforementioned Blade Jenkins causing him to miss nearly 2 months. No call on the ice and no suspension at all for that one.

In slightly more positive news, Windsor lost their 4th game in a row last night, so Saginaw still has a 5-point lead with the Spits having two games in hand.

Not to beat a dead horse, but Justin Murray did not deserve 4 games in last years playoffs for his check to MacKenzie Entwistle.
And after that hit, there was a Guelph player who took his helmet off and I thought that was an automatic game misconduct and suspension, but I could be wrong on that.

I don't think there's a lot of consistency when it comes to the way suspensions are decided in the OHL. Oftentimes it feels like they're just throwing darts at a board.
