The key here is to sign Luca Fantilli, his older brother. Luca was property of the Niagara IceDogs who selected him in the U18 draft, but he may or may not still be on their extended roster. If we sign his brother, then we will get both of them. Saginaw has been willing to do this sort of thing in the past.
A quick glance at the numbers shows that Luca is a 6 foot tall defenseman who can score, and with what we are losing on the back we could sure use some of those.

In the 2nd round, 31st overall, Saginaw selects Matthew Jovanovic, a defenseman from Toronto Marlboros MMAAA. Both of the mock drafts earlier in this thread had him going in the first round, for what it's worth.

Taking another flyer in the 6th round with defenseman Tyler Duke, who appears to be headed to the US NTDP next year and is a Notre Dame commit. Tyler's older brother Dylan was a 3rd round pick last year and is currently committed to Michigan.

Lot of offensive upside and not committed to any NCAA program at the moment. Was hoping they got him in the second so could be a steal if they can sign him. Baker, Jovanovic, and Klein (4th) seem like they could be the three guys to step in next season.

In the 12th round, Saginaw selects Chase Pietila, who the second mock draft had them selecting in the 1st round. Is he related to the Pietalas who tore it up for MI Tech (or NMU—cant remember which) a few years back? A D man who had 52 assists? In the 12 th round? Wow.

The Rangers’ fans on the HF boards are 100% convinced that the long wait for the Rangers’ first round pick means they were on the phone working out a deal with Saginaw.

[/quote] I would guess he is some relation cousins maybe the chatter was he fell because the family was big on the NCAA route. After a quick look into his family name it appears they pretty much all went that route (MI Tech).
