"The year prior, the Spirit took Alex Turcotte, and will now potentially be an option for him next season"
Is that even a possibility? I know it probably technically is but if he was coming here wouldn't he have done so this year?

"The year prior, the Spirit took Alex Turcotte, and will now potentially be an option for him next season" Is that even a possibility? I know it probably technically is but if he was coming here wouldn't he have done so this year? He signed a contract with the LA Kings so he can’t return to Wisconsin next season. If they don’t think he’s ready for pro hockey he could end up here.

He can still play in the AHL or even the ECHL. The OHL probably won't do much for his development at this point. I would put the chances of him ever coming to Saginaw at approximately 0.0000001%.

Thanks for the info...didn't know he signed. Read a couple articles on him and I would put maybe a few less zero's than aj but still very unlikely. He signed right before the COVID so he never actually played a game in the AHL. With the break, it's possible that he doesn't get much ice time for Ontario Reign as a rookie and gets sent down but I'm not holding my breath.

Let's not forget, Bode Wilde also played AHL before he was sent back to Saginaw. The key here is, if they send him back to the OHL they don't have to pay him. He gets his signing bonus, but no salary. I would put his being in Saginaw at 50/50.

Good idea except that North Bay announced yesterday that they are taking him #1 overall 🙂

Good idea except that North Bay announced yesterday that they are taking him #1 overall 🙂 Wow, most mock draft talk had 5 to 6 D men listed ahead of him.

Wow- Saginaw is taking the chance on Adam Fantilli with their first round pick. I like this pick. I have never been a big fan on passing on these kinds of players only have the London Knights sign them. Saginaw is getting a good reputation as a great place to play and Drinks has done a great job of getting players to report. If you want to be a top team you have to act like one.

Totally agree, bp. The pick is a gamble, and 5 years ago I would have lost my mind if they made it. Today, I applaud Drinkill and staff for getting this club to the point where it’s a gamble worth taking. It should not go unnoticed which team had the next pick in the draft.....

Wow- Saginaw is taking the chance on Adam Fantilli with their first round pick. Absolutely brilliant move on Drinkell's part. 1) He knows he's a recruiting machine and can dangle playing with Perfetti/Suzuki as motivation to sign with us. Or 2) if he really is so hellbent on going to London/Kitchener, we flip him for a kings ransom + two firsts next season. Love it!

I like the pick, too, bp. it sure did seem like it took London a little extra while to make the next selection...
