Very well deserved...when he first came here he was seen by many as a way to get Blade Jenkins to report...hard work and skill development have earned him an AHL contract...who knows, maybe some more hard work could get him to the show. Congrats to DJ! icehogs.com/news/busdeker-brings-scoring-pop-to-icehogs-roster

Since he signed directly with the AHL affiliate anyone know exactly what rights the Chicago Blackhawks have to call him up? And what rights does Rockford have to send him down to the Indy Fuel?

I don't know for certain, but Marcus Crawford signed an AHL contract with Grand Rapids a couple of years ago which got him into rookie camp with the Red Wings. He was unable to stick with GR who sent him down to Toledo and then this year he played just one game for the Walleye, then played for Orlando, and Kansas City in the ECHL. www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=164660

As far as I'm aware an AHL contract is just between him and that AHL franchise. They would be able to send him down from there to an ECHL team but not up. I think any NHL team would be able to/have to sign him to an NHL contract (each team is limited to 50 of these at a given time) to call him up. Im sure all AHL contracts have an out clause for this purpose.
