I saw yesterday that the Wings signed Osgood to a 1 year deal. What does this mean for Manny. Will he stay as back-up or will he go elsewhere? What does everyone think about having Osgood back in Detroit? I prefer him to Cujo but I was really hoping Manny would get moved up to starting goaltender.

From the sounds of it, Manny should have just as much of a chance to be the #1 goalie as Osgood. I'd like to see Legace get the chance. I think he's good enough to do the job and has proven in past years he can step up whenever needed.
I like Osgood, but I so hate watching him give up a goal to a shot from the blue line that he has a good look at. With the increase in size of the offensive zone he might have even more difficulties. I was surprised at the price the wings got him for ($900,000.) At that price I think it was a good decision on the wings part, and much better then bumping up MacDonald to the back up roll with Legace in net.

I was surprised at the price the wings got him for ($900,000.) That was it? Manny makes more than that!! As you know, the Wings seem to put the higher paid goalie in net more. Maybe Manny DOES have a shot at the #1 spot. That would rock!! |
