Spirit draft Luke McNamara in the first round. I've been told it's a different Luke McNamara than the one from the movie "The Skulls" but his character was played by Joshua Jackson from the Mighty Ducks so there's a hockey link at least.
Brock Otten did a mock draft and had Luke sliding to 9th overall so it seems like we got a good player...here's what his site said prior to the draft:
9. Mississauga Steelheads (Ethan) - Luke McNamara, C, Bishop Kearny Selects 15U/ JRC (GTHL) Coming down to the wire, the Mississauga Steelheads would have liked to have seen one of the defencemen drop down to their hands. But don’t get me wrong, they would be super excited to see one of the stronger snipers in this draft class with Luke McNamara still remaining. After drafting many right handed shots at last year’s priority selection, the Steelheads will be looking thin with left handed talent. McNamara can bring a puck control aspect to the game and he is one to communicate well on the ice. His smooth skating stride paired with a snipers mentality can easily be mistaken by opposing goaltenders leaving him a good scoring opportunity. He also adds a good size element to his game and has learned to find a balance of protecting the puck and driving the play. Overall, this adds to Mississauga's deep pool of talent with recent draftees Lavoie, Beck and Christy.

Very US heavy draft for Saginaw.7 of the first 9 picks were from US programs, and 8 of 14 overall. That includes Luke McNamara, who is actually from Mississauga but played in Rochester, NY last year.
All skaters drafted, no goalies. 9 F and 5 D.

Where does Saginaw stand with last year's #1 pick Adam Fantilli. Wasn't he considering going the college route?

As far as I can tell, no new developments on that front. If anyoneone can woo him away from the NCAA, it’s Drinkill and Lazary, and I have no doubt a LOT of work is going on behind the scenes.

Adam reported to be staying in Chicago. That’s a tough lose.
