Sapovaliv recorded 4 assists in Czechia's 9-0 win over Austria. Other winners from day 2: Finland, Sweden, and Switzerland in a SO. Two games on day 3: US v. Slovakia Canada v. Germany USA loses to Slovakia 6-3. They looked as bad as Canada the other night. |

Czechia and the U.S. both won their respective groups, so Saginaw will likely be without Oke and Sapovaliv for a few more games barring an upset on Monday.
Quarterfinal games (Monday, January 2):
Finland vs. Sweden, 11:00 a.m.
Czechia vs. Switzerland, 1:30 p.m.
United States vs. Germany, 4:00 p.m.
Canada vs. Slovakia, 6:30 p.m.
Latvia and Austria are in the best-of-3 relegation round

Oke is in the game for the 3rd period... US leads 9-0 Oke looked very sharp in his period of action... Did give up one goal but it was a total snipe that hit the crossbar and went in. Made some good glove saves and some saves in traffic that earned praise from the announcers. Only faced 7 shots but that was the average per period for Germany... I don't think he even faced his first shot until halfway through the period so good job by him to be sharp and ready to go. |

Czechia defeats Sweden 2-1 in an overtime thriller to advance to the Final. They tied the game with 39 seconds left in the 3rd period before winning in the extra frame. Sapovaliv had the primary assist on the winning goal.
