So, just when things seem to be looking up: 2nd round, mem cup next year...
Could the Wings derail the spirit by stealing our coach? We know Laz is on the way up, and Wings are very familiar with the Spirit. Hope so for him, but hope not for us. One more year!!

Would have to be an awfully sweet deal for Laz to give up the opportunity to coach in the Memorial Cup.

While I’d love to see Laz in GR, I don’t think we have to worry. All indications are that Toledo’s head coach will take over after their season ends. I think we get Laz and Drinkell for this last hurrah before they both make their way to the pros in 24/25.

But you’re overlooking the fact that Toledo will then need a coach. No idea what the Wings’ thinking is there. |

Max Bultman, the excellent writer who covers the Wings for The Athletic, wrote a column that put Chris Lazary second on the Wings wish list right behind the Toledo coach. He’s usually pretty dialed in. ☠️
