Saginaw selects Valentin Zhugin in the Import Draft. He is a Russian who has been playing for Guelph the last two seasons and he was released by Guelph prior to the draft because they wanted to go a different direction and give Zhugin an opportunity to play elsewhere. He had 17g 17a last year and scored 17g the year before that. Obviously he's very familiar with the OHL style of play and I think he's a great pick at #40 because he's a proven entity and should only get better next year. Would have been nice to have the rights to Misiak who was drafted #1 overall by Erie but from what I've read on Twitter, we're getting a pretty good player.
