Well folks, I don't know how many are still around these parts and have avoided the cluster that the Facebook group can be but we're about to embark on a historic season beginning tonight and ending in June with the Memorial Cup!!! Captains were announced on the interwebs today with a nice video: Hache - Captain Haight - Assistant Loukus - Assistant Mancini (Home) / Willis (Away) - Assistant Gervais - Honorable Mention (per the video) Hache must be an impressive leader if he's played zero games with this group and he's been elected the Captain. I loved the way he played in the scrimmages so that must carry to the locker room as well. We head to one of the most historic arenas in the league in the Aud tonight and it will really be the first time the lineup plays together this year since the scrimmages and exhibitions, lots of people sat or were at NHL camps. Everyone is around except for T-Bone and hopefully they bring some of that Flint playoff series intensity to this season. Will also be interesting to see how Oke plays...he hasn't seen a lot of action and I don't think he got any games in Arizona or Australia so hopefully he's not rusty and comes out with confidence. Excited for the season to be back and hopefully we get some good discussion on this board because there's no way I'm diving into the facebook pool

Whatever happens tonight, I believe we are setup for success this season, and fully trust Drinkill.
I would love nothing more than to start the season with a big W, but we will see how much of the chemistry is there for tonight.
I can't wait to look back at this post at the end of the season and see how it's going.

Deuces are wild! 2-2 after 2 periods.

Tough loss last night. Played such a great first period, and then just looked like we had first game jitters the rest of the way while Kitchener took it to us. Except for Misa...he was a monster. Hoping for a better result tonight.

Nice revenge after the opening loss to Kitchener...boys really poured it on them and Oke did a great job withstanding the opening 10min where Kitchener seemed to come out fast. It was also nice to see the Hache effect...he's a great policeman on the ice and if teams were smart, they'd goad him into some fights so he was at risk of a suspension. We haven't had a guy like that since Middleton and it would be nice to find another one through a trade. Moore and Sima seem to be playing physical as well but they don't intimidate like Hache seems to. Congrats to Haight on the hatty...always fun seeing those hats fly!
