Game 1 of the 2023-24 I75 Divide Cup goes tonight at Wendler Arena. If this isn’t a trap game for Saginaw, I don’t know what is. Will LaLonde get his 1st start between the pipes for the Spirit? We shall see. Flint now has everyone back with Kressler being sent back from the Toronto Marlies.

It would be pretty surprising if Lalonde got the start considering he just got traded yesterday and most likely hasn't practiced with or maybe even met most of the players yet. I would imagine he'll get one of the games this weekend on the road.
My prediction is that it's going to feel like a total downer tonight because it's a schoolnight and there's no way a Wednesday night regular season game can match the intensity of those playoff games last year. Hope I'm proved wrong but I think it will be a pretty light crowd and may be 50% Flint based on the way they usually travel up here.

Actually a decent crowd for a Wednesday but certainly not what was experienced during the playoffs. Annouced attendance was 3431. Oke had another solid game between the pipes. Saginaw squeaked out a 2-1 win against their I75 rivals.

I thought the crowd was pretty good, too. Not a bad result considering we played nearly a third of the game shorthanded (and I thought most of the calls were warranted). Oke played maybe his best game in a Spirit uniform. Hopefully Guo's injury isn't serious, but it did not look good at all.
