Owen Beck returns to Peterborough after the trade that brought him to Saginaw. Very likely his last game in Peterborough as an OHL player so I suspect there will be some kind of tribute for him before the game. This is a trap game if there ever is one. Spirit coming off an impressive 4-2 win at Ottawa. The Petes got absolutely hammered in Oshawa 7-1 last night. Will be interesting to see who Laz starts between the pipes tonight. Does he go with the hot hand in Oke or alternate starts with LaLonde? Can not give up points in a game like this seeing what London and Sault Ste Marie are doing. As I post this, London already up 2-0 against Kitchener in the back half of their home and home this afternoon.

Make it 4-0 London now. I think we know why Hunter didn’t make a splash at the trade deadline. He made his big trade before the season started getting Michael Simpson from Peterborough who just happens to lead the OHL in goals against average and save percentage. I suspect Drinkill made offers for him but there was no way he was getting him once London offered to bring him back to his hometown for his OA season.

Glavin back in the lineup after his 2 game suspension. Sapovaliv, Storch, Forgione, and Guo scratched. No surprise, Beck starting. Oke in goal again.

Saginaw sweeps the Eastern Ontario trip and I don't recall that ever happening before. Yesterday's game in Kingston was quite chippy for most of the afternoon, overshadowed by Parekh spitting on someone at the end of the 2nd period. I would guess a suspension is coming. Obviously emotions can run high when playing your former team, but it sure seemed like Luke McNamara wanted to fight everyone in a Spirit uniform yesterday.
Sapovaliv did take warmups yesterday, but did not play a shift in the game. I'd probably keep him out of Thursday's game at Windsor because that one seems like it could be another physical contest.

It sure always seemed like McNamara never fit in on this team and it sure showed during the game on Sunday. Friendships always go away during the game but when we play guys we traded, there always is a few smiles during a scrum or something like that. There was no such smiling/joking with McNamara and it seemed like there was a lot of hostility so it's probably good that he got out of Saginaw and can get a fresh start in Kingston. I heard about the spitting and I've been on the record since the playoff last year that Zayne is going to get it. He has all the talent in the world but I'd buy stock in his dentist because he's not going to have any teeth by the end of the year. To me spitting is one of the most disrespectful things you can do to someone and in a game that allows fighting, drop your gloves and be a man. Zayne is going to have a lot of value in trade next year after being drafted and honestly, I think we should part ways because as much talent as he has, he does these types of things and it's just not OK with me.

Still waiting on a suspension to be handed out to Parekh. Kingston’s Paul Ludwinski has been suspended for 2 games for his check to the head game misconduct penalty.

On hfboards someone said that they won't announce anything until after the Top Prospects game and I agree with that stance. I would guess it is a 2-game suspension since Zayne is not a repeat offender (yet).

Yeah, plenty of non-biased opinions on there. Makes Spirit Fan Nation seem logical. Geez, what did I just read?

Yeah, plenty of non-biased opinions on there. Makes Spirit Fan Nation seem logical. Geez, what did I just read? It's been a lot of Soo fan opinions on there this year... They're bitter about not getting the memorial cup and every time we lose they are trolling to see how angry we are... It bothers them that we like Drinkell and Lazary and we trust what they're doing. If it wasn't for Zayne riling people up there would be nothing for the league to say about Saginaw

I'm sure I'd feel differently if he wasn't on my team, but I love that Zayne is a pest. Shouldn't be spitting on people, but be a thorn in their sides. I love it.

Saginaw has been living rent-free in the Soo fans' heads all year. Pretty sure no fanbase in CHL history has whined and complained more about losing a Memorial Cup bid than they have. It didn't help that they convinced themselves they were getting Owen Beck at the deadline either. A playoff series this year would certainly be something.
I love Zayne, but I do hope he gets suspended for his actions. I'm not sure what length is right or fair; there are people a lot smarter than me to figure that out. I would not be surprised if he gets 2-3 games or 8-9. But he's got a lot of lessons to learn. Some of his antics won't cut it when he gets into the pro ranks.

It's just two of them in particular that are driving the "Saginaw is evil" bus. One of them runs the Hounds Update account on twitter and has gone out of his way to DM me "evidence" that they were getting the memorial cup. He promptly blocked me before that didn't come true. I warn people to be better than I am. Don't interact with him. I've definitely let my more trollish side get the better of me when dealing with him.

Prospects game is in the books. Now we see if Parekh gets suspended. Parekh has been suspended for 2 games. He is eligible to return on Sunday. He is out tonight and Saturday.
