About as good of a road performance as I could have hoped for. Scored two early goals to take the crowd out of it and then locked everything down after that. I can't recall too many grade-A chances the Hounds had, even when they had all those powerplays in the 2nd and early 3rd periods. Good start to what will be a difficult road trip.
Congrats to Andrew on his first career OHL shutout. Loved how he tipped net over at the conclusion of the game.

THIS, THIS, THIS is how to win in the playoffs...glad this Spirit team finally convinced themselves that they can play this style of hockey when they needed to! Congrats to Oke on his first shutout...as you mentioned, not a lot of Grade-A's but the Soo had the goalie pulled for like the last 3 minutes and he was able to find the puck and make all of the saves. Has to be a huge confidence boost for him and Lalonde has been playing great too...good article in the Saginaw News about the success of the goalies this week. |
