Only 3 weeks to go in the regular season...this season has really flown by for sure. Need to stay hot this week and we begin with a mid-week visit to the Dort. The games against Flint have been pretty quiet this year but it's easy to say that when the games last year were so intense. Flint has been playing well lately and is fighting for the playoffs so we'll need to be on our game and not mess around with them. Goaltending was solid this past weekend and it was great to get Mangone back in the lineup...he's such a solid player and you could see the team gel a little more with him in there.

Flint played well Saturday against London and almost came back to tie it late. Stupid penalties and a poor penalty kill cost them the game. Gotta capitalize on that and stay out of the box ourselves on Wednesday.

Starting off the weekend with a 3-2 OT loss against Flint. Have to give some props to Day because he stood on his head tonight (and his d-man likely saved the game in the final moments of regulation). However, London lost in regulation against Guelph, so the Spirit are in first place and now control their own destiny. The Soo beat Sudbury tonight in OT, so they gain a point on us.

If you get 43 shots on net and only give up 2 goals in regulation, you expect to win those games 9/10. Ran into 1/10 last night. Unfortunate but the road point was good enough, as mentioned above, to get into first. Onto the next one.

If the power play clicks just once, they win in regulation. Went 0 for 6 last night. This team has too much talent to be this bad on the power play.

Based on the Ticketmaster seat map there will be a good crowd tonight vs Kingston but not a sell out. Tomorrow night vs Guelph is getting close to a sell out.

Only a few single seats and standing room only remain for tonight’s game vs Guelph.

I am listening via the radio. That was some National Anthem for the Guelph game.

Spirit set a team record for wins in season (46). 50 wins still on the table. The London Soo game next week is going to be important one way or another. Soo wins, we get a small bit of space on the Knights for first in the conference. Knights win, it will all but lock up the division for us. Only outcome that wouldn’t be super beneficial is an OT win for one of them.

Another good weekend earning 5 out of a possible 6 points. Only 5 games remaining in the regular season. Next weekend at Guelph on Friday night and at Erie on Saturday night. The season ends the following weekend with games at Sarnia on Friday night, at home vs Windsor on Saturday night, and Sunday afternoon at Sault Ste Marie.

Magic number to clinch the division is 6. I think this upcoming weekend could be tough. Guelph can be a tough place to play in and Erie has been playing well. Friday should be a real interesting night of hockey. I'm hoping we'll have the division locked up before the final game of the season and the Soo will just be resting guys if we're still battling with London for the top seed.
Crazy to see that only 2 points separate seeds 5-8 in the Western Conference.
