A near perfect game 4 with the exception of giving up that short handed breakaway goal. What a goal by Misa! Sedley is still looking for his jockstrap. I think he left it at the hash marks between the faceoff circles. 😃🤣😜

Color me VERY impressed with how the Spirit played in the Owen Sound series. As aj0512 mentioned, Owen Sound was highly touted and bought at the deadline so I saw them as a bit of a sleeping tiger with a fantastic goalie and the series scared me quite a bit. I didn't think we'd lose the series but watching what happened to Windsor last year gave me serious pause.
You could tell some of those jitters were there in Game 1 and the third period really was the message to the rest of the series. We outshot and dominated them 15-4 and one of those 4 shots was the last second goal by Smith which is an easy teaching moment from Lazary to play to the whistle no matter what. From that point on, the defense was sharp and we scored 4 goals after the 19min mark in the remaining 3 games.
Speaking of that last second OS goal...since that goal Oke gave up only 4 goals in 3 games...sure, we limited the shots but that's the goalie that we're hoping for and there were a number of big saves especially on the road.
I noticed him again last night but Lincoln Moore is doing a great job playing up on the 3rd line with Misa and Mangone...he seems very calm with the puck and knows when to get it deep and be cautious with it.
Overall though, it was a dominating performance by the Spirit and gives me a lot of confidence heading into Round 2.
