We need our big guys to step up and make a noticeable appearance - bloom, beck, christo, sapovaliv - and parekh (if he plays) - we've been holding down the fort without offense from them. We traded for them for a reason, and if we want a shot at winning, they are going to have to contribute on the scoresheet. Couldn’t agree more! Need more traffic in front of Simpson and get pucks to the blue paint. Goals don’t need to be pretty.

Agreed—except Beck looks to me like he is hurt. He was targeted hard and often against the Soo, and I cant believe that his total performance could fall off like this without something else going on. I at least notice the other guys when they’re on the ice—I havent noticed Beck in quite awhile.

Got a little puck-luck and a much needed win tonight. Lots of guys mentioned above finally getting on the scoresheet (first time Beck and Misa have scored since Round 1). I recall Beck taking a hard hit in Game 7 of the Soo series and he didn't play much after in that game. Typical Dale Hunter-hockey in the third period tonight.

It was typical Dale hunter hockey throughout... The Boultons don't belong in hockey and just wait until Lawrence returns from suspension,it will get even worse.
Reffing was a joke tonight, they let London do whatever they wanted and they totally lost control... We're lucky no one got seriously hurt. Glad lazary left zayne on the bench for the 3rd, they were going to take a run at him like they did all night. It's like they have a thug assigned to all of our stars.
It's going to be a long series but we need to stay strong tomorrow night and make this a best of 3 series.

Need to bottle up that 2nd and 3rd period from tonight and bring it with them on Wednesday night. Finally some greasy goals with traffic in front of Simpson. And how about that rocket by Owen Beck to tie the game at 2 apiece. He took that drop pass and snapped it cleanly past Simpson’s catching glove.

Oh, and finally some physical pushback against London. Need to continue to bring it on Wednesday night.

Awesome article! Thanks for sharing. I picked up my Memorial Cup packet at the Spirit Store a little bit ago. Have to say they did a really nice job with them. Comes with a clear draw-string bag, an information card of events going on around the arena, and a ticket booklet if you went the physical route. It's all done really well in my opinion. It's starting to feel real, but still a long way to go to get there.

I posted this on another site it alludes to what BThumme stated on page 1 of this thread.
Dead tired team and out of gas. I don't know if it's diving or the legs have given out. You can say that some have seen too much ice time but no other choice really. The Soo really took it out of them, especially missing a few players and having to rely on what was available.
They have nobody in the playoff top 10 in points ( Mangone at 15 ). They stand #8 in player goals scored ( Mangone ). They have nobody in the top 10 in assists ( Parekh at 13 ).
Do you notice any missing names??? Come on, you know who I'm talking about.
Yet, I feel that this will be pinned on goaltending!

Definitely not a goaltending issue. However, going down two goals less than three minutes into the game last night was a massive blow that we never could come back from, despite strong play throughout the rest of the game. You can't give a team as good as London a two-goal advantage essentially to start the game. Unfortunately, you also can't give a team like London a 3-1 series lead with two of the three remaining games in their barn. Hopefully Guo is fresh and can help us Friday in London and we can rebound and try to extend, but going down 3-1 is going to be a big hole to climb out of.
Worst yet, we'll probably be seeing London again in a couple of weeks during the Memorial Cup if they beat us, because I don't see the East winning the championship no matter who makes it out of this round.

I thought we were the better team last night, other than the first 5 minutes. But against a team like London, that is often all it takes. The Knights played an impeccable shutdown third period. It seemed like we had the puck the whole time, but never really had a Grade A scoring chance. Have to give them credit for that. Simpson had a really good comeback game in goal after a dreadful Game 3.
Good to see the Boulton Brothers giving us reason 3498573 as to why they don't belong in this league.
Don't think anyone in their right mind would pin this on Lalonde. Other than maybe Mangone, he's been our playoff MVP, in my opinion.
James Guo is back on Friday; I imagine he'll go in for Forgione. London is also getting Kaleb Lawrence back. Keep your heads up, boys (literally and figuratively).

Last night was our worst game of the 4 and it was essentially a one goal game since we put it in our own net and had 2 empty netters. These two teams are VERY evenly matched and if the refs called it like the Flint series last year, I think we'd be up (or at least tied) in the series right now.
Also, there's nothing I hate more than listening to the crowd yell "shoot". Then they watch the shot get blocked and comes out of the zone and everyone groans. Newsflash...they are trying to score every time down the ice...sure there's a time or two when they make one pass too many but when we're cycling or a dman has it at the point, they're going to shoot the second they have an opening.
Despite our lack of success in London, I think that we're coming back to Saginaw for a Game 6...mark it down.
Finally, how are the Boulton's in this league...what a joke
