Lalonde Traded to Kingston

Lalonde traded to Kingston for conditional picks. Is signed by the Blue jackets but a pretty good chance he’s back for an OA season. Guess this answers the question of who will get the starter role next season. Thank you to Nolan for coming up huge in the playoffs after Oke got hurt. Wish him the best of luck wherever he lands next season.

SAG gets a 3rd and a 7th round pick if Lalonde plays one game for Kingston. Pretty cool to see him go home (I'm also guessing he's back in the OHL next year). Thanks Nolan for your contributions here. He certainly stepped up when the team needed him the most. Kinda wish he could have gotten to play more in the semi-final game against Moose Jaw when the game was basically over.

I was at the Loons game tonight that got postponed and ran into a family of Soo fans that stopped in Midland to catch a game. The two teens knew about the Lalonde trade and we all talked about how he did so well when he forced into action during the playoff series with the Soo. I said the fans in Saginaw wanted the Bryce McConnell-Barker, who knocked Oke out of the playoffs, to be suspended. He said the Soo fans were just as surprised as us that he wasn't suspended.

The London fans I talked to at the Memorial Cup echoed the same thing.

Good trade for the Spirit and Lalonde...if he's back he's at home and we got a couple of good picks for him. Remember, we paid virtually nothing to get him so not only did we get record setting streak and a great playoff run with him, we now get two picks in return if he does come back.
