Tough stretch of road games...I see on the scoresheet that Papineau is backing up tonight so maybe we finally see someone other than Oke this weekend. My guess would be tomorrow since it's an earlier game but it could be Oke for all 3.
Bishop and Epperson are both back in the lineup and we're carrying 7 dmen again which I think is a good strategy. It will be tough to match the speed of London tonight on the backend so hopefully we stay out of the box and Oke can be a wall in there.

Agree! My guess is Papineau tomorrow. They have to see what they have for a backup.

Who had a 5-1 win at London on their bingo card? I sure didn’t. Glad to be wrong. Your 3 stars were: 1st Star: Zayne Parekh with 2 goals 2nd Star: Kristian Epperson with 1 goal and 1 assist 3rd Star: Michael Misa with 2 assists Andrew Oke with 17 saves on 18 shots. Spirit made London pay for their penalties with a 3 for 8 night on the power play.

I think we're a better team than some are giving us credit for.

That was a great win last night against a London team pretty much at full strength. We are missing two pretty good players in zhilkin and Igor so I like where we stand... Hopefully we will keep it up.
I was VERY impressed with the defense last night... I thought they weren't going to be able to keep up with Londons speed but they played very well.

Great overtime win today in front of 350 people. We draw better for preseason games. At some point Oke should get some rest. Will it be Sunday?

Pretty certain today was the most scouts I've ever seen at an OHL game. Misa and Martone both put on a show. I think Martone already has an NHL body. Dude backchecks like crazy. Misa with two goals and an assist on the game winner. This road trip has already exceeded my expectations. Hopefully we have enough gas in the tank for tomorrow.
Also, this is a pointless complaint, but LOL at whoever picks the 3 stars of the game in Brampton.
And I wanted to give a shoutout to Liam Storch. He doesn't get much playing time, but I thought he played his tail off today.

Couldn't draw fans in Missy but 10 miles up the road people are going to show up? Pretty awful for a Saturday matinee in a country without college football.

They got free rent for 10 seasons.

And half those people we're family and friends of Misa(s). The OHL really doesn't want to let the GTA go. They should but I don't know if they ever will. 20 or so years of zero support hasn't convinced them to pull the plug. Just stubborn mentality. Side note, the Q is apparently going to try to make St. John's, Newfoundland work again. Talks of Acadie-Bathurst being for sale and getting moved out to the rock. Considering no team lasts more than five years on the island, I'd be really disappointed to see the Titan moved for something that is doomed to fail.

When it comes to the Steelheads, I think they would be better served if they dumped the "Brampton" or "Mississauga" part and just go by the "Peel Region Steelheads" or something like that. There's been so many teams in that area, it's time to just unite the two cities and hopefully get people to support the one team they have left.
I read recently that Hamilton wants an AHL team again once their arena's renovations are done, and there could be an announcement in early 2025. A lot of people seem to be theorizing the Belleville Senators will be that team, and the Steelheads will end up in Belleville at some point down the line. I'm not so sure, however, given the way the city of Hamilton treated Michael Andlauer when the Bulldogs left. FWIW, I do think the AHL suits Hamilton better than the OHL does.
I don't think any league will survive in Newfoundland without a second team somewhere on the island. It might make it more worthwhile. If anything, I think the Q needs to move or expand back into the U.S. I went to a game in Bathurst a couple years ago when there was talk they were going to move to the southern suburbs of Montreal. Great fans, but they have struggled to draw and the market is just so small. Even so, I hope they find a way to stay put.

If Papineau is healthy he should be playing today... Oke obviously gives us a way better chance to win but we have to know what our backup goalie looks like in actual ohl action
