This should make it interesting for the playoffs. I can't wait. They got him for a conditional pick and a Shawn Mattias of the Belleville Bulls.

I absolutely LOVE this pick up... IF Bertuzzi is healthy! If he can stay healthy, I hope the Wings hang on to him for a few years. Could be the Shanahan replacement they had been looking for. I also like the addition of Kyle Calder, as well. Jason Williams was a bust this season (I think last year was a fluke) & Calder has all the potential in the world, just needs to be on the right team. He could prove to be a huge steal down the road!

I absolutely LOVE this pick up... IF Bertuzzi is healthy! The health issue was addressed by making the draft picks in the deal conditional. 1 pick is based on how far the Wings go in the playoffs and if Bertuzzi is playing. The other pick becomes part of the deal if the Wings re-sign him after this season is over. That is my understanding based on what I've heard on WDFN and WXYT sports talk radio this afternoon. This is a low risk, potentially high reward move. |
