With Colorado's loss to Nashville last night, Calgary locks up the 8th seed in the West and gets to play Detroit in the 1st round of the playoffs. Not a good match up at all for the Wings. Game 1 will be either Wednesday or Thursday night this coming week.

Strong start for the Wings tonight as they beat Calgary 4-1. Datsyuk gets off the snide by scoring his 1st goal in 20+ playoff games going back to 2002.

Nice to see some PHYSICAL play from the Wings for once - even without Bertuzzi!

Another solid game for the Wings in game #2 as they beat Calgary 3-1 to take a 2-0 series lead. The only concern I have is that Detroit could have buried the Flames in the 1st period with all of the power plays they had but they only cashed in once on a 5 on 3. Instead, Kiprusoff kept Calgary in it for most of the game.

Game #4 underway and the Wings get an early PP. However, the PP continues to struggle, only 10% in the series so far.
