London, ON: London Knights General Manager Mark Hunter announced today the trimming of the London Knights Exhibition Roster by 4 players. Left Winger Jamie VanderVeeken, Center Chris Ferguson, Defenceman Kelan Herr and Goaltender Chris Abbey were all put on waivers today. Attached is the updated London Knights Exhibition Roster. The London Knights return to action on Thursday, September 7th when they travel to Windsor to face the Spitfires. The Knights next home exhibition game will be held on Friday, September 8, 2006 at 7:30 PM at the John Labatt Centre when they host the Windsor Spitfires. I think (and this is my opinion) that he was picked up for this coming season since the Hunters did not know if the young guns were coming, being Sam Gagner and Patrick Kane.

With those two reporting, as well as the Knights' signing of David Meckler, Ferguson was in an uphill battle to make the team. Obviously, he lost that battle.

Now....I'm wondering....can Saginaw pick him back up on waivers? Then again, it sounds like you don't want him!
