I don't mean to be a downer here but do we really consider Bass as one of our players? I mean, he played for Missasauga for 3.5 seasons and for the Spirit for only half of one season. Don't get me wrong, out of all the players we traded for, Bass was by far my favorite and he definitely performed the best of the "new guys" in what turned out to be an abbreviated playoff run.
Here is my issue with this...the RedWings were notorious for picking up players at the deadline and many times they were only there for maybe a year after that. However, typically, they won a Stanley Cup with the Wings so they had that notoriety and recognition as "a Red Wing" since they contributed to the title.
So, in my very important opinion, I feel happy for Cody for making the show, but I don't really consider him a "Spirit guy that made it." If Pyatt, McNeill, or even Bissonette for that matter makes the show, I would think that it's much bigger for the hockey club.

I absolutely agree w/you, dj--when one of our homegrown guys makes it, that will be a huge deal for me. But until they do, any guy that played for us gets claimed, even though I'm sure in his heart he will always be an Ice Dog.
