I thought right along Cody would be the first--he was the right type of player in the right place--a perfect fit for what the Sens need. Congrats, Cody--we didn't have you long, but we're glad to see another Spirit make the Show!

I was watching the game live on the Atlanta feed (I am a Thrshers fan... kind of by default, because one of my best friends lives in Atlanta... but Thorburn playing there gives me a REAL reason!). I was excited to see Bass at the time, and even the Atlanta announcers talked him up & eventually conceded that Bass won the fight. It was a good first tilt.

Cody recorded his first NHL point tonight, on an assist to fellow-OHLer-and brand-new-NHLer Nick Foligno.

.....and was recalled to Ottawa on 12/31. According to the Binghamton website, his re-assignment to the AHL was to return home to Owen Sound for personal reasons. Cody picked up 1 assist and 5 PIMs (a fighting major!) in his first Ottawa stay.

Cody made his NHL Playoff debut tonight for Ottawa. Didn't do much, but got tossed with 11 seconds left after a tussle with Gary Roberts.

He did win a couple of faceoffs, and made his first appearance on the scoresheet w/ a hooking penalty!! Great job, Cody--I was all set to cheer for Pittsburg. Now I actually have to think about it.......!!
