Any word on when the current Spirit players at various NHL training camps might be returning?? I know Tomas Zaborsky is back from the New York Rangers training camp based on a post in another thread by I believe BPFox. Nigel Williams - Colorado Avalanche, returned to the Spirit on Monday and played in the home opener Jan Mursak - Detroit Red Wings, returned to the Spirit on Wednesday and played in the home opener Ryan Daniels - Ottawa Senators, returned to the Spirit on Thursday so should be available for Saurday's game against the Sting. Any reports on our recent Spirit alumni and how they are doing at their respective NHL training camps?? Pat McNeill - Washington Capitals, assigned to Hershey AHL Tyler Haskins - New York Islanders, played with the Islanders rookies on 9/20 against the University of Moncton islanders.nhl.com/team/app?articleid=337954&page=NewsPage&service=pageTom Pyatt - New York Rangers, assigned to Hartford AHL Cody Bass - Ottawa Senators, no report Ryan O'Marra - Edmonton Oilers, no report UPDATE 3:00 am 9/21: Added Haskins information.

Pat McNeill was sent down to the AHL today (as was former Spirit goalie Mike Brown, and Paul Bissonnette was sent down a day or so ago.). I think Daniels will be here for the game tomorrow - Ottawa does not have him on their roster anymore & during the Ottawa game tonight they mentioned that they have their top 4 goalies in camp yet (Daniels was not one of them). I am watching Mursak playing for the Red Wings right now (against Minnesota). The game is on the internet. Mursak is wearing #61 for the Wings & seems to fit in (does not stand out).
(These Minnesota announcers are good - they are not homers, but man, John Moozak? That's how they are pronouncing Mursak's name!)

I watched the game last night & they did a great (LONG!) story about Thorburn between the 2nd & 3rd period. Followed him through his draft dat & whatnot. I am somewhat of a Thrashers fan (have a good friend who lives in Atlanta - so I follow the team w/her) and I am excited to see Thorburn playing for them. I think he will get quite a bit more ice time there than he did in Pittsburgh last year.

Looks like we may see Nigel Williams on Wednesday night, as the Avs returned him to the Spirit on Monday. As of Tuesday, Ryan Daniels was still on the Ottawa roster, (there wer 5 goalies named) and he was not listed anywhere in the "Player Movement" section. Cody Bass is also still on the roster. (per the training camp section of The Hockey News) It would not surprise me at all to see Mursak stick w/ Detroit throughout the exhibition season.

For what it's worth, Mark Constantine said in today's blurb that Mursak and Daniels are still at their NHL camps.

If Daniels is not back who gets the start between the pipes for Saginaw in the opener against the Soo?? Is it this new kid Lepera or does "Z" get a shot to prove himself?? Or does Perron get the nod?? I won't even guess because I have no idea what Watson might be thinking. He's used to Neuvirth or Smith who were interchangeable last season in Plymouth. He doesn't have that luxury here.
