Wow - only 4g, 7a (11pts) in 41 games in Hartford this season. Must be playing on a 4th line, or else having a difficult adjustment period to the pros.

A little bit of everything. He's been injured. A lot of his time has been on the PK (not many points playing there, although the Rangers are happy with his work as a PKer). And it looks like it's been a slow adjustment. This is a temporary thing--Hartford wants him to get his shooting eye and confidence back. They are very happy with his defensive play, and they expect the offense to come around. Remember--he wasn't exactly the finished OHL product we saw last year when he first came to us at 16! Nobody works harder than Pyatt, and he'll do what he has to do to get better. He'll be back. This means the only one of our 5 from last season that did not spend time in the E this season is Cody Bass, and he's been with Ottawa most of the year. I expected Bass to be the first one up, but I didn't expect him to get there so fast or stay so long. Clearly what he brings to the team is highly thought of in Ottawa.

True enough. But he's there, and the only time he was sent back down was for personal reasons (it was actually almost a family leave type of thing, for when his mother died)

Cody would still be playing, but he had some surgury done on something that was mis- diagnosed while he was here with the Spirit, and is out for the remainder of the season. The Senators are impressed with what he brings to the team and he will be back with the club next season. For what it's worth, my money was always on Bass to be the first of last years class to get to the show. Good luck Cody, It was a pleasure to watch you while you were here.

Well, I said Tom would be back, but I didn't expect it to be today. Re-assigned to Hartford.......
EDIT: This must have been an error on the AHL "transactions" section, because Pyatt is still w/ the Checkers.

This would have been fun to see best friends Pyatt and McNeil play against each other, but McNeil has been back w/ Hershey for quite awhile now. Judging from this, Pyatt won't be gone too long from the AHL either.
Today's Games:
South Carolina Stingrays (45-22-3) at Charlotte Checkers (34-29-7) 7:35 p.m. ET · South Carolina won 5-2 on Mar. 25 and is 5-3-1 in the season series and 58-42-17 all-time against Charlotte. · Charlotte is out shooting their opponents 57-49 in the first period in their last five games. · Rookie Travis Morin leads the Stingrays against Charlotte with six assists and eight points. · Checkers' Tom Pyatt has two game-winning goals, seven assists and 12 points in his last 10 games.
