The new Midland Civic Arena will be open for business beginning Tuesday, September 6th according to information posted on the Midland Amateur Hockey League website. The new facility has 2 NHL size rinks and 1 Olympic size rink. The Olympic size rink is the main rink with seating for about 1000 people. Hopefully in years to come the Spirit will schedule some training camp workouts and exhibition games at this brand new facility.
September 6th Update: The new Midland Civic Arena did open this evening as originally reported. The formal dedication ceremony is scheduled for Sunday October 2nd.
