Is there a song you hear then automatically think of the Spirit? There are two songs, whenever I hear them I think of the Spirit right away. One is "Do You Want to" by Franz Ferdinand and the other in "In your Honor" by the Foo Fighters. I guess it's because I hear both of those songs at just about every game. It just happen to me again today on my way home from work.

Absolutely! Actually I heard that one tonight and didn't hear either of the other two I mentioned. Tonight they had some guy there playing the trumpet. That was entertaining at times. Especially when he pulled a girl out of the crowd and started dancing with her, then whipped off his shirt. lol nut job.

"another one bites the dust" cause it usually plays after a win.
"cupid shuffle" usually plays.
"do you want to" by franz blah blah
god theres a bunch i just dont know the names lol

I'm glad I'm not the only one, acin. There are a lot of songs that I instantly identify with the Spirit just from hearing them all year, or on the highlight DVD, or whatever. Usually I like them and quite a few I'd love to add to my playlist....but I am old and don't know the names and/or artists.......

Do the players pick the music used for warm up? I've never heard any of it before, is that techno garbage what kids listen to these days?

I asked about that last season and was told that yes, the players do pick the music, and yes, they do like that techno garbage. Just one more thing to date us, I guess--give me headbangers any day!
In answer to your question, donzz, I deeply regret admitting that my 58th birthday is coming up.

(finally remembered.....) "Since You've Been Gone", Kelly Clarkson. Three or four years ago this played at every warmup. I didn't even notice it so much until after the season, and then whenever I heard it, the Spirit leaped to mind--still do.

A few songs that have commonly been heard during warmups throughout the past couple of years include "Do You Want To" by Franz Ferdinand (as stated above) and "To Be Loved" by Papa Roach. I honestly hated that Franz song when I first heard it, but it has since then totally grown on me.
And yes, there is something about techno and hockey that seem to go very well. Many arenas around the OHL play techno during warmups. The two songs mainly played during the playoffs last year (or in the 3 home games we had) was "Streamline" by Newton (a popular song from a Pepsi commercial a while back which featured Jimmy Fallon) and "I've Got Life" by E-Type.
So feel free to add these songs to the "Spirit" playlist folder on your iPod and listen to them on your way to the games. :-P

"Streamline" THANK YOU. I never knew the name of that tune. There is another song similar to that, that I didn't know the name. (I do now) It's called "Sirius" by Alan Parsons. They do play that song too!
