Ok, I guess I will put this thread in this forum, even tho there's nothing 'fun' about it. Has anyone else been just deathly ill lately? I mean, I know there is a flu bug going around, and I guess even I am not immune to it because it hit Thursday & it's still kicking my butt! Anyone else have this: headache, cough, fever, chills/hot flashes, muscle aches (especially in my back & neck), and complete body weakness. Anyone go to the doctor for this? If so, is there anything the doc's are prescribing for it? How long has this lasted for most people? Are there any good HOME REMEDIES that anyone knows that help this? This dry cough is almost the worst part because it just makes all the rest of the stuff feel worse! I am drinking a ton of water & taking Tylenol, and that seems to help a little (everything but the cough). Just wanting to compare notes with people out there. I love to hear new/old family home remedies for stuff like this.

sounds like menopause, not a cold ;D seriously though, it could be too late in the game but my wife swears by that Zicam stuff, she's a teacher and around germs all day and knock on wood, she hasn't missed a day yet this winter.

I had it. It will be your friend for 7 days. I'm also a big believer in Zicam. Cuts colds in half.

Too late for Zicam--you need to take it early in the plague. Whiskey, honey and lemon for the cough. (since we cannot sell cough syrups w/ codeine without a prescription anymore. And w/h/l won't make you throw up from the horrible taste.......) IG1 is probably right. You have the real thing--at least 7 days.
