Heard on Channel 12 news tonight that Lance Parrish might be named manager of the Loons soon.

Lance Parish was in fact named manager today according to updates on WDFN radio and a news story in today's Midland Daily News.

Good for the Loons to name Lance Parrish manager. He was one of my favourite players when I was a kid.
Plus, it's a name that most people would recognize (since he played for the Tigers).
Back when the Canadian Baseball League was around, it was announced that Willie Wilson would be the manager of the London Monarchs. Some probably had to have a reminder on who he is. He played for the Kansas City Royals.
Me, being a hard-core baseball fan at the time, recognized the name right away.
