Ryan Daniels returning?

I saw someone post on the NOOB that Daniels was not signed by the Senators. I'm guessing he's good enough to get a free-agent tryout and perhaps make someone's A or E affiliate. If not, however, how do people feel about having him back?

My opinion is that I think he'll be one of the best goalies in the OHL next year and will definitely have the most minutes in net of any returning goalie. However, I think our goalie is Eddie P. and I would try to get as much back for Daniels in a trade as possible. I would think he'd be worth a 2nd and a 4th rounder in next year's draft from someone.

From postings I've made earlier this off-season, I am a huge Ryan Daniels fan. I believe there have been times that he has carried this team on his back. A part of me would love to see him back because I think the combination of Daniels and Pasquale would possibly be one of the best tandems in the OHL.

But I also see Daniels as possibly being a tradeable commodity. If Jack Combs and Ryan McDonough do not come back to Saginaw, the Spirit will be lacking a lot of punch offensively. Maybe they could workout a trade with another team to bring in a quality scoring overager to replace Combs and/or McDonough in a trade for Ryan Daniels.

I believe he could still get drafted in this year's NHL Entry Draft, so there is that possibility out there.

There would also be a certain Saginaw News reporter that would be thrilled for Daniels to come back to the Spirit. Therefore that reporter would have the opportunity to take even more unneccesary shots at Daniels. I just couldn't resist throwing this last paragraph in the posting.

I don't think he is in the team's plans for next year. As mentioned above, they need scoring if Combs and McDonough don't show and he would be a great asset to trade. I really don't think Daniels has improved a whole lot over the past two years. They gave up a ton to get Pasquale, they need to give him every chance to play 45+ games.
