Currently sitting in the basement of the Midwest League East Division. Blew a 3-1 lead by giving up 7 earned runs in the top of the 9th to lose 8-3 to South Bend on Monday night.
Maybe Lance Parrish wasn't the problem in Loons Ville??

Parrish wasn't the problem, but the way he coached them like an AL team. Bustabad is more of a small ball NL style manager which is what the Dodgers wanted. Besides that, managers at this level pretty much turn over every year or two. There is a good possibility that Parrish would not have been the Loons manager had the Dodgers decided to retain him. You can manage in Midland one year and be the hitting coach in Jacksonville the next.
That being said, Bustabad is pretty much the worst manager I have ever seen at this level. He seemingly has a "run until you are tagged out" philosophy. In the games I have seen this year, he has pretty much lost four of them for the Loons and i have seen four games. He lost them by sending runners in stupid situations. One in paticular that stands out was in Lansing. Trailing 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth with one out and Garabedian on second, Lambo hit a ball into right for a base hit. Lansing has a right fielder that has one of the best arms not only in the MWL, but in all of baseball (I'm credentialed by Lansing and have had many chances to talk to scouts and that is their opinion as well). Being a catcher, Garabedian should have been held at third and the Loons would have had runners on first and third with one out where a fly ball to the OF ties the game. Instead, Bustabad decided to ignore his scouting report and send his catcher and try the arm of the right fielder who promptly threw him out at home by 20 feet. The next hitter flew out to center and instead of tying the game up, it was game over.
