It's been a long time since I have been on here but I see things haven't really changed.
I was catching up on reading all those great posts and I was wondering how many of the posters have played competitive organized hockey?
I myself was fortunate enough to play travel hockey for 6years and high school hockey. Then I made the big jump to the beer league.
Who else on here has played or is currently playing?

I don't mean to offend you since that appears fairly easy to do but what the heck does having played competitive hockey have to do with expressing your opinion based simply on ones knowledge of the game. Just because someone hasn't played the game doesn't mean they don't understand it or aren't allowed to have an opinion about it.

After one posting I guess I didn't know that I appear to be offended fairly easy. I'm not offended at all. I was wondering how many of the posters have played competitive hockey.
I don't think it says anywhere in my post that a person needs to have played hockey to express there opinion bases simply on ones knowledge of the game.
I also don't believe I said that because someone hasn't played the game doesn't mean they don't understand it or aren't allowed to have an opinion about it.
Sorry acwright84 I didn't mean to confuse you of get you worked up. Also sorry to anyone else that may have take offense to my post.

The first sentence of your post makes it pretty clear the you are not satisfied with the posters here as well as the sarcastic thread title. I know what you are saying without saying it.

There was no organized hockey for females in the Paleolithic Era in which I grew up.
And by the time there was, a broken hip was a distinct possibility......................

Well, if SF8 claims to be from the Paleolithic Era, I don't know where the heck that puts me. I know for a fact that I'm quite a few years older than her.
Anyhow, in my "hockey career, I played a lot of shinny hockey under the dim lights at the north end of Hoyt Park (no boards or goals, so we spent more time chasing after the puck than actually playing the game) and loosely organized hockey at Merrill Field. Played a year or two with a travel team out of Saginaw. We played pick-up games around the state and our home rink was in Midland (only artificial ice in the Tri-Cities at the time). Played a few games with the Bay City Americans, but they were generally older guys and played a style of hockey above my abilities (read into that whatever you wish). Coached 4 seasons of Squirt and Pee Wee hockey in Midland.
I don't think that the above contributed much at all to my knowledge (if you call it that) of today's game.
