Many of the other teams in the league have season ticket holder functions, such as barbeques, during the summer. They might have golf outings, etc. as well.
Would people be interested in attending something like this? Do you think it would help the organization attract talent? For instance, if the fans would have known that the Saad family was coming to town, wouldn't that have been an opportunity to show what the team means and the support they receive from the community? That would be a chance to meet the perspective new players, and they can meet the returning team members.
Just a thought. What does everyone else think?

good ideas...don't think people would go for it though...we'll have a hard enough time putting butts in the seats this winter

I agree with DJ that its a great idea, however if two of the best salesmen in the tri citys can't convince a person to come here I don't think there is anything my children of me can say to change their minds.
There is so much that I want to add to this but for the best interest of the board I will pass.

I am surprised that the Spirit don't have a barbeque or some type of function in the summer for the season ticket holders. The off-season is a long one and I know a lot of people (including myself) enjoy talking some puck in the summer. Perhaps next year someone will step forward and suggest it.
They use to have a booster club convention for the minor league hockey teams in the summer but I don't have enough contacts anymore to let them know if this is still happening.
Hope everyone is having a safe and happy summer thus far.

Just an FYI--I had a note from a friend who is a Soo Hounds' fan. They have had a couple of off-season events, and have already scheduled their bus trips for the year, allowing people to plan ahead for them. Good idea.

Good idea. do you honestly know what you've got on the calendar for January? I wouldn't want to schedule one now and put down a deposit only to have something come up on that date. I barely know what's happening next week

With the work schedule I have, it is not only desirable but necessary to know far in advance. Otherwise, it doesn't happen. I've had to miss a lot of last-minute and semi-last minute events in my life.
