Surprisingly no mention of his misdemeanor conviction.

I believe that was a misdemeanor conviction..............
No argument about the story. He has always had the talent. If he's gotten his head on straight, it has obviously come since his final Saginaw appearance, when he went out of his way to pick up that 8 game suspension....................

I believe he has served his punishment, so the conviction is in the past where it should stay. I wish Matt the best for the future & hope he makes it to the NHL.

Doesn't mean I'm not looking forward to seeing somebody open a can of whupass on him in the NHL, though, even if he is a kinder, gentler MC.................................

I gave that kid every chance I could on the ice watching him. So many awful awful awful penalties, it's so refreshing to hear him actually acknowledge how often he cost his teammates goals and games.
I don't think he's going to make it...I really don't. I though the pick was simply Lamariello being bold and brash, but maybe it'll happen. I don't wish him ill but from all accounts, he's more "bad kid" than "good kid", his dad lets him do whatever the heck he wants, and he took no responsibility unlike the other four teammates for getting involved in something so troublesome off the ice.
There's also a reason that Fletcher and Corrente were suspended longer than the other three. It doesn't stem from the original incident, I'm not in any way trying to imply that. But Corrente was involved in another off-ice incident at the arena, which is why he and Fletcher sat out a couple more games on the Eastern trip that year, can't remember the order of the games.
Hey, good luck to him. But I'm betting against him being a regular in the NHL.
