Did anyone else see today's NHL Frozen Moment picture on NHL.com? It's a shot of Wayne Gretzkey scoring his record breaking 77th goal of the season back in 1982. The goaltender he scored it on... our own GM, Don Edwards. www.nhl.com/nhl/app?page=FrozenMoments&service=page

Hopefully that was not the last thing people remember of him. Hopefully some day he is known more for his management accomplishments then his playing accomplishments. Only time will tell. Either way that is a great find GensFan.

Saturday morning and we're up in Thunder Bay visiting friends. The Canadian TV sports and news channels are all showing special programs or segments "uncelebrating" the 20th anniversary of the Gretzky trade from Edmonton to L.A. It is clear that there is still some remorse and animosity among Canadians about losing their "national treasure" two decades ago. Cannot blame them.

Now you know why they "freak out" everytime there is talk of another Canadian team going to a US city. After all, it's "their game". You do have to appreciate their passion however. Peace.
