Just curious as to who might be the three Spirit Captains (the "C" and two "A"'s) for this season?

Tyler Murovich will wear the 'C'

I'd make one of the 92 born players an "A".

If Jack Combs is back, he is the C. Chappell an A, maybe the C if Combs does not return. Beyond that, who knows. Although I think Muro is a good pick for an A.

Tyler Murovich will wear the 'C' Should a "C" go to a player with only 1 year in the league over some other guys with 2-3 times more experience?

The "C" should go to the player who best exemplifies leadership qualities. It should not matter if they are inexperienced or very experienced.
I speculated that Chris Breen might wear the "C" for this year's club. I still think it would be a good choice. My choices for "A" would be Murovich, Combs, Chappell, and Brodie.

Please explain why you think Chris Breen would make a good captain. I really disagree with you so I'm hoping you could shed some light on your thoughts.

Breen is a Watson kind of guy. He stepped last year on defense, is a veteran presence, and is not afraid to go to bat for a teammate (not always with the desired results).
I'm not one who believes just because you are star means you should be the captain. And, just because you are an overage player doesn't automatically mean you are the captain. I saw more leadership out of Breen than many people listed on the previous posts in the past four years (Combs, Chappell, etc.).
I have no problem with you disagreeing with me. Trust me, you're not the first and you won't be the last. But I would like to know why he wouldn't be a good captain? And, who do you think would be a good captain? You haven't said.

Interesting point made puckman. I guess I didn't really see the leadership out of him that you did. I would think that Brodie or Crawford would make good captains, they have been solid defenseman from the beginning in my opinion and I think the guys respect them.
I think if Smith was back he might have been an adequate choice as well.

How the captains are selected will determine who they are.
If the players pick then I would say Chappell or Combs.
If the coach picks it will be Murovich.

I agree with Topphat and sensspiritfan, Watson will pick the "C" and it will be Murovich. Also puckman, I have a sneaking hunch that Breen will not be with the team long enough to be awarded any of the letters. Can't say why, just have a hunch.
