Made the trip. Sag took way too many penalties - seemed like most of the third period that ICE DOGS were on PPLay. Some positives Allicock, Chappell, Murovich all played well and were leaders out there. Most impressive was Szwarz - he played hard and treated fans to a nice "Dust Up" with Ice Dogs D #3. Szwarz had the unanimous decision on that one. Both players got the Game Misconducts. Really disappointed in Nick Trecapelli. This guy is way too cocky - one hand on the stick - going for style points. Gave the puck away on numerous occasions. Got an assist on Niagara’s first goal – coughing up the puck. Took a couple of dumb penalties as well. Walch and Underwood did not play to their potential as well. Best D out there was Breen. We missed Comrie, Crawford and Brodie. They would have made a positive impact on the outcome Score could have been a lot worse – Pasquale kept them in the game Good attendance - about 1500 fans

Szwarz went after Ice Dogs defenseman Joey Scarccini after Joey threw a knee at (I think) Pleckaitis. Clear-cut unanimous decision in favor of Jordan. Joey threw a few early and then Jordan really hammered him. Got 2 for slashing, 2 for instigator, 5 for fighting and an automatic game misconduct. Allicock later laid a vicious check on Scarccini. Message delivered - don't mess with our team.
Hardly any Saginaw fans attended, except for parents. Many more were there in the previous two years. Many Ice Dogs' fans (less than a two hour drive).
Something I forgot to mention last night: we passed the team bus near Flint on Saturday morning. Spirit bussie (Guy) was driving uncharacteristically slow. Might be the first time we've ever passed him. The opposite has happened many times. Asked him why so slow at Saturday's game and he said the drivers have been told not to exceed 66-67 mph to conserve fuel. A fact that you all probably really needed to know.

Well, I'm impressed, johnt. I have never seen the Spirit bus traveling less than a foot off the ground.........!!! I'm guessing gas prices might have cut down the crowd for the "home" team especially since it was an exhibition game. And then I'm sure a lot of people stayed home to take in that Lions' game!!!!!

I noticed Kain Allicock had a good game as well. BTW, what happened to Jordan Ogilvie? Has he made the team, or is he playing elsewhere? Thanks, everyone. KnightHawk

someone posted in an earlier thread that he was sent home which i'm assuming meant cut from the team (and not a discipline or refusal to report thing)

Pretty sure that Ogilvie was up at the Soo for the preseason game a week ago last Friday, sitting in the stands with the other Spirit players who didn't dress for the game. If so, it was the last time I saw him.
